Toyota Repair: Trans Shifting Problem, transmission failure, 22re

Question
I have been having problems with the trans not wanting to shift in the morning when it is cool and has set overnight.  It started out not wanting to shift into OD, but now I have a hard time getting it to shift into 2nd.  I have been told about a shift valve or something of the such.  The truck is a 92 pickup with a 22RE(2.4L engine).  I would appreciate any help with this matter.  Thanks

Answer
I would think that there is a hydraulic pressure loss in the transmission either because of leaking seals or worn clutches especially if there a lot of miles on the truck.
It's an internal transmission failure, you can take it to a transmission shop or the Toyota dealer and have the line pressures checked, this will give you a good idea whether there is internal pressure loss or not.
