Toyota Repair: Replacing fan switch on dash, toyota forerunner, control knobs

Hi Ted,
I need to replace the fan switch on my 1993 Toyota Forerunner. Do I have to take the WHOLE dash off to get to it? Thank You, and yes ,this woman likes to do it herself.

No you don't have to remove the whole dash.
Remove the control knobs, remove the face plate, there are a couple of screws that you need to remove, then you will have to disconnect the control cables on the heater and the air duct controls, they are located under the glove compartment and on the left side under the dash next to the accelerator pedal on the heater duct housing, after all the cables are disconnected you can pull the control assembly out and then replace the fan control switch, I almost forgot, it makes things a lot easier if you remove the radio, the radio cover, and the glove compartment.
