Toyota Repair: Paul P. I wrote & told you..., sway bar bushings, monroe struts

Question
Paul P. I wrote & told you about my 98 Camry that is riding so hard over bumps. Toyota dealer said I needed rear struts & bumpers, & sway bar bushings were worn.  I had work done at a local service station, & it was still a bumpy ride.  You told me to find out if they replaced the bumpers, since they act like a cushion.  I questioned the mechanic and he said the bumpers were okay, so he didn't replace them, or the bushings.  He also told me he put in struts that are guaranteed for the life of the car, and they have to be driven a while to be broken in, and if I drive it for awhile and I still am not satisfied, he'll replace them with struts that will give me a softer ride, but will not last as long.  Does this sound reasonable to you.?  Also, on Monday the temperature was 80 degrees, in contrast to the very cold weather we've been having,(Boston) and I noticed the car drove a little smoother.  However, Tuesday was chilly again and same old problem.  Could tires contribute to this? (45,000 miles, original tires which are actually not worn)Any information you can give me will really be appreciated.   Arlene

Answer
go with monroe struts or original toyota ones(prefer). and make sure you replace the strut tops(bumpers) regardless if they are worm or not. the reason why i say this is because the bumpers are original and the struts are new. one part is going to fail before the other( i call this prevention) and why chance that. also make sure your tire pressure is 32 psi.....! thank you paul p.
