Toyota Repair: Toyota Avensis Remote Locking, toyota avensis, model 98

Question
My Toyota Avensis Remote locking is locking the vehicle but is not unlocking the vehicle. I believe the key may have lost its code, especially since I took the batteries out! I understand there is a routine for recoding the key but do not know what that is? Which is of course the question I am asking you.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help, first of all I don't know what an Avensis is, I'm sure there is an equivalent model sold in the US by another name but I have no clue what that may be.
I suggest you take it to the dealer and have them reprogram the system.
