Ted,
I'm the guy with 4Runner power window problem, we got a different master switch from a salvage yard ($45 versus $324 from dealer)and had the same problem, everything on the switch works but the rear two windows. I know the "new" switch could have been defective, but let's just say it's not, where would be the next place to look?      Jeff

In your first post you said that just one of the rear windows was not working, I believe it was the right rear, but now you say that both rear windows do not work even with the replacement switch,I doubt that the switch you got from the salvage yard has the same problem as your old one.
I'm going to ask you another question, does the window in the tailgate work? Yes, the tailgate window does work, what I've found when I took off the door panel on the subject door (neither window is working)was that a wire from the motor and been disconnected when the track came down, from what I'm guessing is part of a after market alarm system tied into the original wiring for the elec. windows, when I put my test light after the switch and activate the door window controler I get power on one of the wires when I go up and on the other wire when I go down, probably exactly like it should be, but then the wires from the motor enter into wiring for the alarm system and power doesn't make it back to the motor. I can hook the wires directly from the the original Toyota wiring to the motor and by-pass the after market wiring and get the motor to work. So I'm thinking possibly the loose wire contacted the metal part of the track after it came loose and shorted a fuse or circut breaker in the alarm system. I've looked and looked and can't seem to find the correct fault, I know I've left pretty much the Toyota orig. system so it's not fair to ask someone to help track this, but I really do want to thank you for your extra time you've spent with me, if you happen to have any ideas I'll head that direction next.       Jeff

Answer
Thank you for the reply, I would suggest removing the aftermarket alarm system completely, and have another system installed if you really need an alarm system.
There is a power circuit breaker behind the left kick panel but it would affect the operation of all the windows not just the rear ones.
Please let me know if I can help with any other questions you may have in the future.
