Toyota Repair: Check Engine light, obd ii, failure code

Question
Hi Ted,

I know you are the Toyota expert, but I note that you are familiar with OBD.  I have a -98 Honda Civic with a check engine light on.  I ran the OBD II and it has a 0136 oxygen sensor code.  How likely is it the oxygen sensor or is it the wiring to the ECU?  Any suggestions?

Answer
99% of the time it's the O2 sensor, so I would suggest replacing it.
A v-6 engine has two number one sensors, one on each bank, a 4 cylinder engine has only one #1 sensor it is located either in the exhaust manifold or just before the catalityc converter, if it shows a #2 sensor failure code it is behind the catalityc converter.
