Toyota Repair: Manual transmission wont start, clutch pedal, safety switch

Question
I have a 98 Corolla, approx 183k miles, and a manual
transmission.  The most recent major repair was a replaced
clutch at approx 176k.  Yesterday, when I would try to start
my car, it would react as though I didn't have the clutch all
the way in.  After 3 or 4 attempts of pushing the clutch in
and out and trying, it would start.  Today, it won't start at
all.  I get the same reaction; it's as though I don't have the
clutch pushed all of the way in.  Any thoughts?

Answer
The first thing you can check is to see if there is anything obstructing the clutch pedal from going all the way down, like floor mats etc.,
There is a clutch safety switch that won't let the engine start until it is engaged, if there is no problem with the carpets, replace the clutch switch, it's located under the dash on a bracket and makes contact with the clutch pedal lever.
