Toyota Repair: overheating, radiator fan, heater coil

Question
my 1984 cressida overheats. cap OK. tstat is new(192*). flushed radiator. fan runs. no water leaking. engine will run cool, however, once temp begins to rise (after a longer drive or higher rpms are necessary)engine never really cools down. if i need to complete a journey without being able to pull over to let it cool, it overheats and i lose all my water. also i hear water running in my dash at least once as it runs (heater coil?). thanks

Answer
There are two possible problems you need to have checked, one is that the radiator may be partially blocked and not enough coolant flows through it to cool the engine, the other one is that there may be a headgasket internal leak.
The toyota dealer and most decent repair shops can check both items for you.
