Toyota Repair: short in wiring system and why engine will not turn over w/head on, toyota 4x4 truck, camshaft timing

Question
I have an 1982 Toyota 4x4 truck, there's a short in the charging system that kills the battery I replaced the alternator,IC Regulator, relay under dash on passenger side, and it still drains the battery.
Also, repaired oil leak on timing cover, engine will not turn over with head on, remove head and the engine turns freely by hand.  What could be the problem?  Thank you

Answer
You need to have it checked for a current draw that is making the battery drain, this is done with an ammeter connected in series on one of the battery terminals.
The other problem is more serious, the reason you can't turn the engine over may be because the camshaft timing is not correct, if this is the case the pistons will make contact with the valves and won't let the engine rotate, recheck to make sure that the camshaft and crankshaft are both set to the #1 cylinder at top dead center(DTC).
