Toyota Repair: transmissiom problem, shift boot, bushings

I have a 1993 pickup,toyota, with 2wd 5sp trans that slips out of gear particurarly the 3rd and 5th gears(the forward throws). And lately its getting harder to get into 3rd at all. What do you think the problem is and how to fix it?

Hello James, welcome to my expert page.
The most common problem is the shift bushings in the shift tower, remove the console and remove the shift boot and the shifter, there are two bushings that you need to replace(go to the dealer and get them first, so you know what they look like)they can show you on the computer where they go and may even print a copy for you, if not let me know and I can email you a page from the manual( I need an email address)
