Toyota Repair: CV Boot Problem?, cv boot, boot problem

Question
Hi Ted..This is a follow-up to an earlier question.  I have a 2002 4Runner.  I made a left turn into a driveway, but it was so dark that I hit the curb while turning in at about 15MPH. Since then, I have noticed at low speeds (about 1-20mph) that I hear a light squeaky sound when I turn the steering wheel.
I am wondering if I damaged the CV boot or something.

You has said it may be the front brakes, but I hear this noise even when I do not press on the brake.  I hear it ONLY when I TURN the steering wheel.  What do you think?

Answer
It could still be the brake pad sensors, they will make contact even without stepping on the brakes, is the noise there without the car moving? If it's there only when it is in motion remove the wheels and check the brake pads and make sure no part of the rotor is touching the sheet metal backing plate.
