Toyota Repair: Dies when shifted into drive, air intake hose, forward gear

Question
I recently had exhaust pipe(from exhaust manifold to the tailpipe) on my 1989 Camry wagon(4 Cylinder)replaced. When we got it back, it ran fine in nuetral and reverse, but when shifted to a forward gear, it died. I changed the plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap as the repair shop had instructed, but no change. Any ideas would be appreciated.   Thank you

Hello Bryan, welcome to my expert page.
Check the air intake hose from the air cleaner to the throttle body for any loose clamps or cracks, the movement of the engine when put in gear can open the crack and cause stalling because outside air is drawn into the system.
