Toyota Repair: Check Engine Light for a 94 4Runner, good luck jack, toyota product

Question
Our 4Runner has been bucking as we drive... I checked the plug wires, and one was loose.  I reattached it, but it came off again. Now the CHeck Engine light is on. could a faulty plug wire be the cause, and if so, is there any possibility of a domino-effect in the other aspects of the electrical system?  The car is still running rough, and we are ~200 miles away from home.

Answer
You really need to have someone go into the diagnostic system and find the code.
My guess is that it is going to be an Oxygen Sensor.
Find someone local who knows the Toyota product and they can help, the dealer is not the worse place to go either.
You may also have a failed set of wires. If they came from a parts store and not the dealer then they don't last very long, depending on how rough it's running will determine on you going home or seeking help before the trip.
Good luck
