Tractor Repair: 970 case hydraulics, relief valve, remotes

Question
I have a 970 Case ag king with little to no hydraulics at the hoses.   Lift works fine as does the shuttle shift all gears and steering.  What's  its problem?

Answer
The hitch and remotes are supplied by the same part of the tandem pump, and the steering is supplied by the other part.  You can plug a gauge into the remotes to check the pressure which should be around 1900 psi.  If the pressure is low, it could be a pump or relief valve problem.  If the hitch will lift OK, then the pump and relief valve are OK and the problem is in the remote valve.  There some check balls and seats and springs inside it as well as some plastic thermal valves that melt or distort if the oil gets too hot.
