Tractor Repair: Tractor loader hydraulics question, sheep pens, bosch pump

Question
Hi Arnie.  I originally posted this question to Drew, but AllExperts bumped it back saying he was unavailable and suggested I send it to another expect.  So. without further adieu...

-----------------
I have an older farm tractor (IH 624).  It has a front end loader that I use for hauling hay, moving dirt and clearing horse/sheep pens on my property.

I've had the seals replaced twice (once when I purchased the tractor and once a few years later while I was having the hydraulics switched over to a PTO driven pump - the original bosch pump died).  Now they are leaking significantly again, and I just want to replace them rather than dealing with future leaks.

My question relates to determining the proper replacement cylinders to get.  Is it simply a matter of getting replacements that are of the same design and dimensions in all respects, or is there something else I may need to consider?

Thanks!
Corey

Answer
Besides having the same diameter and stroke, they also need to have the proper size attaching holes on the ends, and the correct placement of the fittings to attach the hoses.  If they are not the same size or type of hose fitting, you can use an adapter fitting.
