Tractor Repair: Repairing Farmall Super A govenor, gasoline engines, govenor

Question
Hi  My Farmall super A govenor is not working.  Have tried many adjustments to the rod between the govenor and carburator. When adjusted one way the tractor idles but can't get enough rpms to run a Woods mower.  When it is adjusted slightly the other way the tractor will not idle at all, but will run the mower.  The govenor never seems to kick in.  What can I do to get it working?

Answer
carburetors are not my thing but they have a Venturi valve and throttle valve there could be jets in the carb blocked i don't think you should have to do any adjustments the idle jet is probably blocked so it cant get enough petrol to idle on its normal setting my advice would be to remove the carb and get it checked by a specialist who will clean it and fit new jets. i don't work on petrol/gasoline engines i only work on diesel engines so i cant be of much help
