Tractor Repair: Throttle Linkage, throttle linkage, hand throttle

Question
I have a 1962 Ford 2000 tractor and the throttle lever is always in the wide open position.  I have to hold it up to keep at low idle.  What could be causing this?  I have replaced the governor spring.

Answer
Can you hold it low idle with the hand throttle?
If so check your throttle linkage for looseness.
i can't remember this model exactly but later models have a fixture that you can tighten to adjust how hard it is to move the hand throttle.
As they get older they wear and need adjusted.
I don't believe that you have any major problems, unless it runs at wide open no matter what position the throttle control is at.
If this is the case you have some issues with the injection pump.
let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
