Tractor Repair: Lost reverse on Case IH 895 xl cab, clutch pack, level thanks

Question
recently while clearing snow on my driveway, I lost reverse all together. At first I thought it slipped out of gear but after going thru all the obvious, I don't have reverse. Forward works like it should. I've checked all the linkages from the lever down to below the the floor plate(removed) where there is a switch that is activated when the lever is moved from forward to reverse. I thought maybe this switch might be faulty??

Any other Ideas? Clutch, trans fluid level,???

Thanks Steve

Answer
If your hydraulic level is fine then change your filters when you take off the filters check them for any debris like metal or fiber. I think you lost the reverse clutch pack. You need to check the pressure on the rev pack but I can't remember where the port is.  You are most likely going to have to split the tractor.  This is if you have the fwd/Rev shuttle if it is a gear style fwd /rev then you broke something. Double check your linkage again.
