Tractor Repair: Gears locked up in 430 Case Tractor, case tractor, taking chances

Bought a used Case 430 with a loader.  While using the loader, transmission got stuck in reverse.  Moved it to a better spot to look at it.  Then there was nothing.  Let out the clutch and just lugged down the engine, no movement.  Tried to take off top cover to look at shifting forks and can't even get the transmission cover plate with shifter off.  How do I get the cover off to even see what might be the problem?

The cover might be hard to remove if it is stuck in gear. I don't see anything from the parts lay out that would keep it from being removed. If it is in two gears at the same time then you might have to force the issue to get it off. But think about like this it's broke anyway what ever you do can't hurt it any worse than broken. Or you could call a dealership saving money requires taking chances.
