Tractor Repair: steering column to tranny housing leak, ford 3000, gas tractor

Question
My gasket was leaking at the bottom of the steering column on my 1968 ford 3000 3 cyl. gas tractor.i took what i needed out of my way to get to the 4 hole paper gasket.the whole steering column assembly came right out,and i was carefull not to mix parts.my manual said to replace the steering column seals inside the column,[it came with the gasket as a kit] too, because that was the reason i had a leak at the gasket...all came apart well.i'm getting ready to put the power pump ass.column back in the tranny housing, shaft was in good shape[seal surfaces i.e.]i polished and kept everything clean as possible.this being the case,my question is am i on the right track?and if i am, am i missing anything else i should do before i put the column and assembly in for final installation?it should go together as easy as it came out of the tranny housing right?the column and pump assembly slides in right over the studs and new gasket and i bolt it down.am i missing anything or does that sound about right?the leak was'nt huge or anything, but i don't like leaking oil on my property as long as i can stop it...do i need to make any adjustments to anything?any answers would surely be appreciated THANK YOU...S.K.

Answer
No I think you are on the right track. If it starts leaking then you probably have something leaking internally putting pressure where it is not supposed to be. I think that is not the case and you should be fine. I don't know of any adjustments that need to be made. Good luck
