Tractor Repair: 1972 ford 3000 hydraulic lift, ford 3000, mechanical skill

Question
the lift quit working but the front end loader still does. i have added an auxillary valve to the hydraulic system 3 years back.  the draft/position lever seems to be broken  where should i began.  the fluid level is good.  lift has always been slow to warm up, or start working but was fine after that.

Answer
If your loader works fine then your pump seems to be in working. The hitch being slow could have been some indication that you had some internal leakage in the valve or cylinder. The lever if it seems broken then it could be just that. Outside of the lever looks like everything is internal, so if nothing is evident on the outside I think it might be time to take it to a dealership. Depending on your level of mechanical skill the linkages can get a little overwhelming.
