Tractor Repair: Ford 801 diesel injection leak off to fuel tank, diesel tractor, diesel injection

My Ford 801 diesel tractor has no stand pipe in fuel tank. Line from fuel tank goes to T fitting on side of head and another line goes from T to injector pump.  Could I put a diesel fuel check valve at tank to prevent fuel from draining into oil system in case of fuel return line failure under valve cover.

  Yes you could although I've never heard of anyone doing it.  If the return line fails, it would prevent fuel from coming from the tank and going into the oil, but you would still get fuel coming from the injectors while it's running and going into the oil before you knew there was a problem.
