Tractor Repair: 6600 ford, fuel filter, 6600

Question
My tractor started running rough and blowing sparks out the exhaust. I shut it down and it would not crank back up. I changed the fuel filter and bled the pump. No fuel is getting to the injectors and the lines from the pump is clear. Is there and way to flow test the pump or can i have it rebuilt for less than a new one costs? thanks,
Thurman

Answer
Hello,

There is no way for you to flow test the injection pump.  All you can do is what you have already done, which is check for fuel at the injectors by loosening the line fittings.  If you are sure you have a good flow of fuel from the tank to the filter, and a good flow from the filter to the injection pump, then it can be assumed the injection pump has a problem.  It would definitely be cheaper to have the old pump repaired.  I just answered a question yesterday on a Ford that was not getting any fuel after the filter was changed.  He did what I told him and it fixed the problem.  Take a look at my previous answers to see it.
