Tractor Repair: hydrolics front end loader kubota, loader bucket, front end loader

Question
24 year old kubota 1710 loader.
bucket will not go up and down, pto works fine don't know if their related.
fuel level ran low, filled, change the filter.
still doesn't work. if the filter fills with fluid, does that mean the pump is o.k.?
how do I test the pump? no leaks anywhere.

Answer
Hello,

The filter filling with fluid does not mean the pump is OK.  The pump pressure should be checked with a gauge plugged into where the loader hoses go.  If the pressure is very low or has no pressure, the relief valve or pump could be bad.  I am not an expert on Asian or European tractors as stated in my profile, so I don't know where the relief valve or any other components are located, and I have no access to a repair manual.  I don't know the exact pressure spec, but it should be at least 1800 psi to run the loader.
