Rebuild will be one By JD mechanic with 40 years experience, (JD only). What would be best rebuild kit,Clevite,Sealed Power,or Endurance Power(Reliance) or possibly Magniforce or Circle Power?

Answer
Hello,

I really can't recommend one over the other because I haven't used all these brands.  Clevite and Sealed Power are the only ones that I have used of the ones you mentioned.  There are many aftermarket brands, and there's probably not much difference between them.  Some of them may even come from the same factory, just with a different label on them.  And it doesn't matter what brand, they all make mistakes.  I have had the wrong main bearings packaged in boxes with the correct part number, main bearings with no oil holes in them, the wrong rings in the kit, things missing from the kit, sleeves made with the wrong bore size, etc.  So you have to check everything carefully before installing, but your mechanic will already know this if he has 40 years experience.   Shop for a good price, but don't just buy on price alone, buy from some place that will give you good service.
