Recently purchased; lift seems to be slow or sluggish any suggestions?

Also, difficult to crank even with new 850AM cold cranking battery; any suggestions.

Once cranked, engine runs great....

Hello,

  Change the hydraulic filter if you haven't already done so.  If it's still slow, the pump should be flowtested to determine it's condition.

  Make sure the battery cables and terminals are in good condition, and that the cables are of a heavy gauge.  Replacement terminals that bolt on to the cable are no good, and light gauge cables won't supply enough amperage.  Make sure the ground connection on the tractor chassis is clean and tight.  If everything is good, then the starter may be weak.
