Tractor Repair: 1958 Ford 801 Steering Gear Housing, sandblasting, arnie

After doing some sandblasting, I'm afraid sand might have gotten into the steering gear housing (not power steering). Is there an easy way to drain and replace the oil in the gear housing and is there anything else I should be worried about here?

Hello,

  Not sure how sand could have gotten inside unless you had something apart.  If there is sand inside, just draining the oil won't get it all out, unfortunately.  It will stick to everything inside.  It would have to be taken apart and the parts washed in solvent to get everything clean.
