Tractor Repair: B7200 Kubota D clutch not releasing, crankshaft seal, clutch disk

Question
When I push the clutch in the tractor continues to stay in gear. I have checked the fluid and adjusted the clutch with the problem contining to exist. I have not cleaned the strainer. Could this be the problem? I also read about a bushing that the transmission shaft fits into on the crackshaft could this be the problem and if so how difficult of a job would it be to replace. And would there be other things that I would need to replace at the same time? Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
 Hello,

It is possible for an input shaft to sieze up in the pilot bushing, but not very likely.  The most common problem is the clutch disk sticking to the flywheel.  If there is no inspection cover, the tractor may have to be split to fix it.  You can try chaining it to a large tree or something and letting it pull while you hold down the clutch pedal.  Sometimes they will break loose, and sometimes they won't.  If it does have to be split, inspect all the clutch parts, flywheel, and throw-out bearing and replace anything questionable.  If there are any signs of leakage, replace the transmission seals and rear crankshaft seal.
