Tractor Repair: 9n 3-point, ford 9n, control mechanism

I have a 1941 ford 9n. The three point lift will raise but it will not lower. What repairs will I need to perform.

   It sounds like you may have a valve or linkage sticking in the hitch control mechanism.  Remove the side inspection cover and look in there to see if there's something obvious like a sticking linkage or something broken.  If not, then the top lift cover will have to be removed and repairs made to the hitch valve.  Could be a stuck unloading piston in the hitch valve, linkage parts worn out, or something damaged in the draft linkage by putting an implement that was too heavy on the tractor.
