Tractor Repair: 54 Massey TO35 PTO problems, foot clutch, clutch work

QUESTION: The ground pto works the engine did but has stoped.  I had to start the tractor with the eng pto in gear as i could not get it in while running.  Now nothing happens on or off it just slips in gear w/wo clutch engaged but does not work. My lift arms also stopped working at the same time is this 2 seperate issues or 1 problem.  Only had the tractor a few hours when I encountered the problems  Thank you

As I understand it Evan with the engine running you can’t drive the tractor use the hydraulics or PTO you put it in gear but can’t move forward --Am I correct?

I suppose you were unable to drive the tractor before you purchased it, or it ran ok?
If iam correct then it seems as though the main engine clutches are faulty! And will need replacing.
Unless you purchased it very cheaply you  should ask for you money back, or some repayment for replacing the clutch.
Its not a difficult job but does requires some expertise and ability.

QUESTION: The tractor runs and all drive gears and clutch work great.  Only the pto does not engage with engine on or off it fill like it just slips in or out but never turns on.  I was aware the seal on the hydrolic was going bad and would need replacing just was not sure it the two were related.

If i remember correctly the TO35 BEING MUCH THE SAME AS THE TE35 it has 2 clutches built back to back and operated by the same foot / clutch pedal on the left side the first part of the down word movement operates the drive engine clutch and the lower further movement operates the PTO drive ONLY , AND ITS POSSIBLY THIS that is slipping and may need replacing!
