Tractor Repair: Ran my 743B Bobcat out of fuel, diesel fuel system, hp kubota

Question
It's new (to me) and apparently the fuel tank is empty when the gauge reads 1/8 tank.  It has a 36 hp Kubota diesel and I'm trying to figure out how to get the fuel system primed again.  I've refilled the fuel filter with clean diesel, pulled the fuel lines loose between the filter and the engine and pumped the primer until I had fuel all the way to the engine...but not under pressure.

What do I do now?  Having never owned a diesel before, I've heard how hard it is to reprime a diesel fuel system...but have never actually had to do it.

Hi Lance.
Your on the right track –you gradually have to get the fuel through the system step by step right up to the injectors. You seem to have got the fuel up to the inject pump this is the device that distributes the fuel to each cylinder at the right time. And replaces the sparks distributor in a petrol engine. Reconnect all pipes (keep it all clean)
On the injector pump undo the bleed screw on the side of the pump a couple of turns –do not remove (the manual should help identify this screw) Now turn the engine over with the starter until fuel flows from this bleed screw without air bubbles in it.
Retighten this screw and the engine should be ready to start. If it does not then undo the fuel pipes at the injector on the cylinder head. Just ½ a turn and turn the engine over again until the fuel flow is free from bubbles at each injector!
Tighten all nuts and your ready to go.
The fuel gauge is never 100% correct just remember this when filling the tank.

THE HOLE IDEA OF BLEEDING THE FUEL SYSTEM IS TO CHASE THE AIR BUBBLES FROM THE FUEL TANK DOWN THE PIPES AND OUT OF THE SYSTEM AT THE INJECTORS AT THE CYLINDER HEAD!

PROTECT YOUR EYES FROM FUEL SPURTS AT ALL TIMES!!
