Tractor Repair: Kubota B2710 3 pt hitch hydraulic failure, brush hog, hydraulic failure

Question
When using a brush hog (4ft), sometimes the the hydralic unit will not lift after about 2-3 hours of use. If the unit was slammed down via quick lever actuatio, could this have caused it? When this happens the unit will not function until the head on the case is removed and reassembled. This is a pain in the neck and quite expensive. The hydraulic fluid is very clean and maintained as instructed. The unit will lift at elevated RPM, but will not lift under a small load.

Hi Dan.
That’s a difficult one --If something works for a while then stops, then it may indicate that the system is well worn and as it heats up every part expands and adds to the problem.
There again are you expecting too much of this relatively small tractor—a 4’ brush hog for 2-3 hours continuously may be a bit too much. You could try several shorter spells of work giving it time to cool down and see if this makes any difference!

What do you mean by –head on the case?
Can’t help any more.
