Tractor Repair: 1950 TD9 Loader, crank shaft, injector pump

Question
Hi! How do you set the injector pump timing on this machine. It is of course gas over diesel, and when the guy I got it from overhauled it, he did not put the injector pump back on as it came out. Any info you may provide would help greatly!!

Hi roger
Usually the injector pump is installed and bolted down when the timing cover is off at the front of the engine, the timing gears all have a spot mark each adjacent to each other and on the end of the crank shaft as well, the hand book will show these.
If you do not have one get one ASAP. To avoid making mistakes, and doing some damage.
Iam assuming that the tractor is back together and ready to go except for the pump?

How ever to avoid having to remove the engine and or the whole front of the tractor.
To get at the timing cover and remove it, there may be a small access cover through the front of the main timing cover to allow this very situation to be resolved. And you may well be able to see these timing marks through this small inspection cover. Right at the point were the pump bolt on!
Have a closer look.
