Tractor Repair: ford 1210 tractor, ford 1210 tractor, ford 4x4

Question
A friend has a 1210 ford 4x4 and i read the other question and answer pertaining to this it runs great but just quit pulling. it wont go forward or reverse, the pto works but it wont move. He took it to a dealer and the checked it and told him the hydrostatic clutch was out of it and that ford didnt still make it, he checked with ford dealers everywhere and they didnt have it. I talked to a salvage yard the other day and they said that it sounded to them like it was the clutch, and not the hydrostatic unit. Just wanting another opinion. Thank you

Hi Rob.
A bit surprised that you dealer was not more help full !
Actually the tractor was made by –Shibaura. Might be an idea to contact them direct!
I do not much experience of hydrostatic drives but I believe they rely on oil pumping round the system and if it’s not pumping then there is no motion.
So it’s a bit basic but is the oil level ok and is it the right grade ??
How does the manual tackle this? Our sponsors may help if you do not have one.
