1 Does it not turn at all?
2 Are the splines damaged .
3 Have you put it into gear.
4 Do you have a manual.

QUESTION: Pto doesn't turn as the splines are damaged and no, I don't have a manual. Tractor has been parked about 6 months because I didn't know where to get parts. I foud a shaft for just under $200.00, but not sure it is the right thing.

If you cant get a manual I suggest you get hold of one of the specialist magazines on vintage tractors, that are available world wide, these will direct you to clubs and suppliers of various parts.

Leyland 254 was made in the uk by BMC car makers back in the 1950—1960’s ?
The back end of the tractor will no doubt will have to be stripped down in order to replace the shaft and is al long job and to big for me to direct at this time.
I would certainly try again for a manual.
