Tractor Repair: lawn tractor mover doesnt start, craftsman model, lawn tractor

QUESTION: Hi I used the craftsman tractor mover last week.WHEN I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE I HEARD A HUGE NOISE (firework). i TRIED TO START THE TRACTOR THERE WAS A CONTINUOUS CRANK, HOWEVER IT DID NOT START. I CHANGED THE SPARK PLUG, CHECKED THE OIL. SAME RESULT.

OH dear ---does not sound good what does it feel like if you try to turn it over slowly by hand. Does feel poor /rough lumpy?
LOOKS like an engine stripe down !  IT SHOULD NOT SOUND THAT BAD.START WITH THE HEAD AND SEE WHATS IN SIDE AND TAKE IT FROM THERE.

Hi Stanley.
Iam a bit confused is it that the engine will not start or the mechanical internal noises that your worried about, Or both.
I may not have made my self very clear when I said start with the head :- I should have said remove the head and have a look inside! So what did you find.
But if you feel that this is not what you wont to do ok as its not every one who is keen to do this type of work.

OK Stanley
Lets start with the basics, which iam sure that YOU have tried but: -
DO YOU HAVE FUEL?
IS IT TURNED ON?
IS IT FLOWING .TO THE CARB OK?
IS THERE TOO MUCH GETTING TO THE CARB, DOES IT SMELL STRONGLY OF PETROL.

ARE THERE ANY LOOSE CONNECTIONS PIPES AND WIRES ETC?
ENGINE CRANKS FAST ENOUGH?
IS THE IGNITION SWITCH ON --ARE THE WIRES OK.
IS THERE A SPARK AT THE PLUG, REMOVE PLUG RE CONNECT AND HOLD PLUG AGAINST ENGINE HEAD AND OPERATE STARTER. LOOK FOR NICE BLUE SPARK AT POINTS.

CAN YOU CHECK THE IGNITION THIS IS PROBABLY ELECTRONIC AND NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO TO THIS.
