Questionreally stupid question, while driving it I lost a spring somewhere from the gas petal. I found the spring but have no idea where it goes. Tractor won't start at all. Guess I need to know where the spring goes.

Do you have a manual---It sounds like a return spring . You say Gas --- Petrol model ?
this could go directly on the pedal its self so will be a quite large job.
its job would be of course to push against the wait of your foot.
I do not have an illustration of the lay out of your tractor so can only guess.
You probable have a rod connection --foot to carburetor.
grab hold of one of the rods and pull it back and foreword , to simulate the normal move ment . and look for a small hole that might accommodate the end of the spring hook it in and look for the other hole to pull the throttle closed .

I would not recommend using the tractor until you are in full control of the speed of course.
