Tractor Repair: 8N tractor-distributor shaft, ford 8n tractor, distributor shaft

Question
Hi Danny, I'm a back yard mechanic having trouble with my old worn out Ford 8N tractor. I live in the U.S., Lafayette, Indiana. I removed the distr.shaft to get new parts for the distibutor and the engine was turned over (error) and now I don't know whats necessary to return the shaft to its original setting. Meanwhile I don't have spark to the plugs. The coil wire does appear to be providing spark to the distributor but the engine simply cranks with no spark at the plugs.
Appreciate your thoughts.

Answer
Jerry there is a company in the US which is a sponsor of my daughters race car there name is Bare &Co there web address is http://www.bare-co.com from here you will be able to look up the US site Jerry.
You can purchase a workshop manual from them that should have all the information you need to fix the problems you have.
The no spark problem I feel is the wire connecting the points to power is going down to earth it is a problem that I have had insullate it and you should not have any other problem there.
The turning over of the engine is the bad one it is hard for me to give detailed instruction on what to do so grab the workshop manual and you should be ok then.
