Tractor Repair: Ford 3000 Hydraulics, ford 3000 tractor, pressure test

Question
Danny,
I have a Ford 3000 tractor in Virginia that the hydraulics do not lift up. I've changed the fluid and remove the pump which seems to check out OK. When the pump is turned you get pressure. This problem started with the arms moving up slowly and tribling. Then it progressed to the point that you had to let the tractor run for significant timeframe before the hydraulics would work. It's progesssed to no movement at all. Ideas please!

Answer
TD you need to do a pressure test on the hydraulic system and work out if the problem is pump related as when turning it with it out does not give a good indication of pump flow and condition.
The other item to check is the valve system on the lift cover this is a job for the proffetionals as it is complex the pressure test should also be done by a trained technician.
