Tractor Repair: oil, diesel tractor, engine oil

Question
Hi Danny
I am going to attempt to change the oil in my Ford 2000 diesel tractor I think it is in the 70's
I need to know what kind of oil to use and how much to put in.
I have read all your answers, they have been very helpful to me. This one I could not find.
Thanks for your site and your knowledge.
Rose

Answer
Rose the engine oil you can use if it is available is a universal farm oil in Australia we have Castrole oil and it is called Agricastrole MP it can be used in petrol(gas in US)diesel transmissions and hydraulics so one oil fits all jobs.
The qty I am not sure of but around the 6 to 8 litre mark comes to mind.
