Tractor Repair: 8n knocking, crank shaft, ford 8n

Hi,
Have an Ford 8N in North Texas that ran fine until I put too much load on it and now it knocks loudly.
Need it to mow pastures with and am on limited budget.
Have some exper. disassembling and reassembling engines.
Is it ever possible to repair knocking without complete overhaul?
I have the same problem with an 89 F250, 351.

Whitesabre you can remove the sump and look at the big end bearings if this is the problem and if there is no scoring on the crank shaft you may be able to get away with just fitting the bearings a cheap easy way to do it.
If it turns out to be a little end bush gone then it will be a full strip down.
