Tractor Repair: Ford 8N Hydrolics, ford 8n, piston seal
QuestionWhen the blade is raised all the way up it feels like it is jumping. Also it will not raise anything more then a light duty blade. When the clutch is depressed the blade leaks down at a fairly fast pace. Thanks
AnswerKeith from what you say about the way the linkage bounces this is common on a machine that has hydraulic leaks internally such as valve or oring leaks these are the main reasons why it happens.
The first place I would look is the piston seal and it's mounting o'rings and stand pipe from pump to lift cover.
The pump is a last resort as this is a large job.
Hope this helps you Keith.
