Tractor Repair: Ford 8N Hydrolics, ford 8n, piston seal

Question
When the blade is raised all the way up it feels like it is jumping. Also it will not raise anything more then a light duty blade. When the clutch is depressed the blade leaks down at a fairly fast pace. Thanks

Answer
Keith from what you say about the way the linkage bounces this is common on a machine that has hydraulic leaks internally such as valve or oring leaks these are the main reasons why it happens.
The first place I would look is the piston seal and it's mounting o'rings and stand pipe from pump to lift cover.
The pump is a last resort as this is a large job.
Hope this helps you Keith.
