Tractor Repair: ford tractor repair, poor combustion, ford tractor

Question
Hello,
Thank You for your help.  My husband recently bought a tractor, a Ford 2000 (about 1970 model).  An older gentleman told him that it was losing combustion on one cylinder.  Where could he find parts to repair it, and is it going to be expensive  and hard to fix?  Though I do have a lot of confidence in him...I am afraid that he will try and do it himself, and end up costing him a lot more to repair more.  We are from Fayette, Alabama

p.s. He doesn't know I am inquiring about it.
Thank You
Have A Great Day

Answer
Pam depending on what is worn causing the lack of compresstion which gives you better or poor combustion if it is rings it can be cheap if it is rings piston and bore then it becomes costly.
What sort of work does your husband do as engine rebuilds and or repairs are not easy Pam and when it comes to parts I can not help in your area as i'm in Australia here I can supply all the engine parts you need.
