right up and ran for about 10 minetes and stoped
looked at the points they would not open. i set them, the tractor started right up then stoped,
the points will not open and shut what is my problem?

Answer
Bob hi im Danny Sydney Australia your problem with points could be that the screw that holds the points may nt be going down and touching the points and locking it so have a look at that the other thing it could be is we usually put a small amount of grease on the cam lobe of the distributor as lube this being dry could wear the rubbing block of the points decreasing point gap have a look at these items and let me know if you require any more help Bob.
Bob a thought is what is the rubbing block made of if it is plastic and not backerlite the plastic can get hot if the condensor is crook or if the wiring for the condensor is not in correct place also look at it.
