Tractor Repair: old tractor fuelsystem problems, rusty tank, industrial case

old tractor 1943 farmall got into abad load of gas with water  caused monumental blockages of filters rust in lines rusty tank frozencarb w/crushed float (repaired) etc how best to attack this problem?   tractor will only be used itermittently so again  i am afraid of fuels available today which seem to hav a short life and seem to attract a lot of moisture in an open (old style) fuel system. your help would b appreciated

  I have an old industrial Case it get used about 2 to 3 times a year I used to have the same problem you did I now put just what gas I think i will need to do what ever I am doing & when I am done & know it will be a while before I use it again I disconnect the gas line & drain the gas from the tank & carburetor have not had that problem since I have been doing this for about 5 years.
