Tractor Repair: MF 235, hometown aol, mf 235

Question
We recently bought a MF 235 at an auction.  The engine runs great and the brakes work good. The problems it has are: excessive play in steering wheel, front wheels wobble when turning, 3 point hydrolics are slow, clutch releases very late (about 1 inch before being fully released), and lastly the emgine doesnt feel as though it has as much power like it should  when mowing.

The question is, what problems do you think should be our priority, and which problems do you think are just common issues with this model tractor?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jason
The MF235 was only built for not quite two years it was built through 1975 & into 1976 The power steering system was terrible on them & was the reason they stopped production of them so the Massey rep told me. Usually when the clutch come almost all the way out before before it takes hold the disc is worn out. That tractor should have plenty of power to run a 6 foot mower. If not it may need the fuel filter changed or the injection pump & injectors worked. If it is the mower slowing down but not the engine RPMs then that would be the PTO clutch slipping.
