Triumph Repair: 1975 triumph spitfire 1500 Vacuum, triumph spitfire 1500, vacuum hoses

Question
I am missing a few vacuum hoses but I don't know where they are suppose to go and come from. I need a vacuum diagram for a single Stromberg.

Thanks, Jacob

Answer
Hi Jacob,

Unfortunately the books don't have good vacuum diagrams but I can tell you most of what you need.

The vacuum port on the top flange of the carburetor is "Ported Vacuum" and is used to power the distributor vacuum advance unit and the EGR valve. On some models there is a vacuum control switch on the throttle linkage to control the vacuum to the EGR valve and on others they ran it direct. The vacuum port on the intake manifold is used to power the anti dieseling valve at the charcoal canister. A vent hose comes off of the carburetor float chamber to the top of the charcoal canister. The canister also receives a vent hose from the fuel tank.
