Triumph Repair: Distributor for 72 Spitfire, british car repair, car repair shops

Howard, what is a suitable replacement distributor for a '72 Mark IV Spitfire?  When I bought mine the engine started fine, but the vacuum advance on the distributor wasn't working.  I took the advance off the distributor and it appears the diaphragm is shot.  I can hear air rushing through it if I blow on the inlet and if I suck on the inlet nothing happens.  I had to work the arm loose that goes to the distributor plate and it still doesn't work.  I can't seem to find this part anywhere.

Sorry, I don't know of any specific supplier of distributors for the 72 Spitfire. It is a Delco distributor and you might try searching the net for Delco vacuum advance units for your distributor by the Delco number on it. Also contact any local British car repair shops in your area as they may have a supplier.
