Triumph Repair: Triumph Spitfire lost key, triumph spitfire, door key

Question
Would you recommend taking the lock to the locksmith or taking the ignition? I lost my key and it work for the lock as well as the ignition. My initial inclination would be the lock.

Hi Dennis,

I take it that this is an older Spitfire that does not lock the steering. If your door key and the ignition key were the same I would take which ever you find to be the easiest to remove. If this is the Ign/start switch in the instrument panel I would use it as it is easier to remove then the door lock. Just label the wires so you get them back on correctly if you use the Ign switch.
