Triumph Repair: 1976 Triumph Spit ignition switch replaced, brown wires, fuse panel
QuestionHi sir, I have a 76 spitfire with a broken ignition switch at the steering column. Instead of spending the $200 to replace it, I went to NAPA auto and purchased a KSI32 ignition switch (5 pin). My problem now is that I do not know which wires go to which pin. My existing wires on the spit are two brown wires (together), a white wire, a white with pink stripe wire, and a thin red wire. Any helps is appreciated. As per the wiring diagram for your car, All plain brown wires are power wires, White w/pink tracer is radio, White w/red tracer (or Orange tracer) is starter relay, Plain white is ignition and one fuse in the fuse panel and Brown w/red tracer is the anti run-on valve.
No thin red wire in the diagram. You will have to trace it in the car to see what it does.
